JET LAGGGGGGGG

ok SO!
Its about 3:30 in the morning where you are at. means it 12:30 noon my time! this place is INSANE!!! holy cow! long flight over, I contacted this jewish lady on the plane, she was really sweet and I gave her a passalong card. funny story I made a commitment that I would contact the person that I was sitting next to. I get on the plane and he's not over 7 years old haha it was cool though. on our flight over to Kiev we met one of the members of kiev ward. that was way cool! she was really nice, its funny though the people here have no bubble, so you can expect them to be right up in your face! kind of weird to get used to but thats not the half of it. kids start smoking at like 9 here, they dont care whats on billboards, we were caught off gaurd our first day we were coming around a corner and we were just trying to see if we could translate the signs, woman was just bearing it all! atleast the top half! OI! we had to train our eye's quick because the skirts are 9 inches shorter (summer so lots of em.... oi its so humid here! :S) and the shirts are just as bad from the neck down. down town is amazing! we were in kiev for our first night and the next day we were shipped out to our cities. So I'm serving with Elder Johnson in shhjitomuer, I dont know how to spell it in english but its just south and to the left of kiev, about an hour and a half away. really cool cause my teachers opened up the city so the branch is way small. Speaking of the branch yesterday was sunday and I had to bear my testimony, that was nerv racking. my comp speaks the lingo really well and he knows russian. our city has both languages and our investigators speak both languages! lol its fun. I'm loving it! othere than the heat! yuck! .... um oh yeah our first day we got cursed! haha this guy came up to us when they took us to mcdonalds ( thats how you can tell the pop. of a city is if it has mcdy's) we were eating and he came up to us and in russian starting demanding money for food. well we cant give money for food, one its not our money and two if we do the gypsies swarm us. so us greenies were just trying to figure out what he was trying to say, and the senior comps were just playing stupid slappin words together that dont make anysense. funny thing was is we weren't playing stupid haha we couldn't figure out what he was saying. anyway after he ranted on he cursed us, we just kind of sat back and said " I didn't know he had the authority to do that!" anyway I'm serving in my city, the language I feel like I forgot but I'm trying. OH! so one of our investigators well the family, I met them the other day and the missionaries do kind of a trade off there 17 year old daughter is learning English. her teachers give her lessons, words to practice oh my goodness you wouldn't beleive some of the them! they DO NOT know what the four letter word stand for, cause she was just saying it casually because she was under the impression it ment something else.  so we go over and talk to her in English and then invite the family to listen to the lesson afterwords! they have an amazing family!!! the dad is awesome and there mom is so sweet! she gave us real honey from a bee farm which was amazing! and the little boy trips me out everytime he speaks Ukrainian to me. haha yeah another eye training time. her name is julia, and with it being summer the men are have dressed and the woman were hardly anything! I thought if she would have breathed in deep enough the buttons are her dress would have gone flying! the mission prez talked to us and said that would be the number one thing to train yourself because you do NOT see that in the states. this is SOOOO Europe!  we ride on public transportation everywhere we go here, bus's and these little dingy things called marshootka's those are always hot because the people here have a superstition if there is a draft in a car you will get very sick so they are usually way hot cause the windows are kept closed and no air conditioning. its 37 celcius outside withought the humididty and we are pretty much an oven in those things. haha yeah and nobody cares how crowded it is, if they need that marshootka then they are going to get on it. my companion got butt sweat all over his shirt from this huge lady, and I got plastered by another womans chest. so gross you cant stand up all the way and sometimes you have to stand because there are not any seats.  well there was like 45 people in this little thing and I just kept getting pushed and pushed and the people keep getting closer and closer oi bad news. I'm working as hard as I can right now, jet lag is kicking my but but I'm almost over it. the nights are super hot so its tough sometimes but I'm trying. My comp is pretty much aswesome! these next couple transfers are going to go great! yeah I wrote back to tine before I left and gave her my new address. miss her I hope she writes. um... oh yeah we taught english the other eday. the little kids love english and talking to them about america. haha its way fun. no mountains here but thats ok, atleast I know where to find them. we already ran into the mafia here, haha there actually pretty cool cats and there english is hilarious. we call em tomatoes for our slang. everyone knows the word mafia and so in english we just call them tomatoes because no one understands us. they drive around the nicest cars here so there easy to spot. hmmm... what else. the food is different but some of it is a good different! oh my goodness the juices here are 100% juice! they are amazing!!! oh man! I've already picked out things I dont like but I eat them anyway. we dont really get fed by the members because we dont have a big branch. lol yeah $37 a week is not alot but it works. had to buy some new shoes and got ripped off, they are already breaking! but one of our investigators is a shoe repair so we are going to use that as another excuse to go see him. yeah there are old buildings EVERYWHERE here. especially the old churches. I haven't seen all of kiev yet cause I'm here but I LOVE the people the kids and the old people are pretty much the best. hmmm... yeah so things are great!  I have faith it will bring in the blessings! you can tell taleya that all of our investigators have seen that picture of her and her crazy lips! lol they love looking at pictures so we are encouraged to show ours! really funny. oh yeah having more than 2 kids in a family is huge! they saw we had four and were amazed on how big our family was! haha well today are my pdays (mondays that is) gotta figure out how the rest of this day is suppose to work! andno they didn't get frisky with us, infact we had to wait and hour and a half after because they broke one of the other elders bags. kinda worried the wheels on mine are bending out and I'm pretty sure thats not a good thing. hmmm... I'm sure things are rought without dad but it will all be good soon. he's working to bless the fam.. lol we both are! things could be alot worse you know so count the blessings! oh yeah cobble stone streets EVERYWHERE! huge downtown squares. lots of cars, yeah everyone is curtious when they drive but they drive like maniacs, very aggressive drivers so the buses get fun.  well I'm about outa time. I still cant beleive I'm here, feels like i'm in a dream. Its really hard here... but I'm taking it a step at a time. Love you all I hope things are great! sorry for the randomness of everything in the email. I hope things are great! keep writing. Love you
Elder Johnson
